<metadataxml><content><line>&lt;font size="2"&gt;&lt;p&gt;Viola, WI -- Eddie Skarda, 78, of Viola, died Sunday, Sept 13, 1987, in his home.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He was born April 9, 1909, in Bear Creek in the town of Union, Vernon Co., to Joseph and Bessie (Shriner) Skarda.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He attended the Bear Creek School. He married Clarissa Hatfield Nov. 29, 1930, in Winona, MN.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He and his wife farmed on Bear Creek, rural la Farge, from 1930 to 1966, when he retired and moved to Viola.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He was a member of La Farge United Methodist Church. Survivors are his wife; many nieces and nephews; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in La Farge United Methodist Church. The Rev. Doris Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Friends may call at the Seland Funeral Home, La Farge, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call at the church from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/font&gt;</line></content></metadataxml>
