<metadataxml><content><line><p>July 28, 1892&nbsp;&nbsp; Grand Forks Daily Herald</p></line><line><p>&nbsp;</p></line><line><p>MERRY MARRIAGE BELLS</p></line><line><p>&nbsp;</p></line><line><p>The Marriage of Charles Barteau and Miss Maggie Iland Occured at the Bride's Home Yesterday</p></line><line><p>The marriage of Charles Barteau and Miss Maggie Iland occured yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs. John Iland, of 102 North Fourth street. Rev. W. H. Spence, pastor of the Presbyterian church, performed the ceremony in the presence of friends and relations. The ceremony was impressive and very pretty. Roses and cut flowers of all sorts were used to decorate the residence, and the effect was charming. W. H. Merrill was the groom's best man and the bride's sister. Miss Fannie Iland, acted as brisesmaid. The bride was gracefully attired in a neat fitting wedding gown of black satine trimmed with passamentee. She carried a lovey banquet of bride's roses and looked indeed charming. The gentlemen were attired in the Conventional black. the groom is one of grand Forks' hustling business men, and is engaged in the wheat business. the bride is a graduate of the High school and is a general favorite with all who know her. Among the presents was a deed to a lot in East Grand Forks, the gift of Mrs. Iland and a silver bread tray, butter dish, syrup cup, spoons, salt cellars, tea pot, sugar bowl, creamer, spoon holder, nut picks, cake stands, family bible, linen table cloths, napkins, curtains, glassware dishes, vases, water set and tea set.<br>Among those in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Kirch, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Dinnie, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Day, Mr. and Mrs. Al Dwyer, Mr. and Mrs. Hove, Mr. and Mrs. Ricket, Mr.and Mrs. Rothley, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Dickson, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Juliot, Mr.and Mrs. Melaney, Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan, Mrs. Geo. F. Blackburn, Misses McClinchie, Buchanan, Anderson, minnie Iland; Messrs. Fred Kirkland, Wm. Cooper, Wm. Iland, Sr., Arthur Iland. Mckeracher, Thos. and Jno. Hunter, James Beatley, Wm. Iland Jr.<br>Mr. and Mrs. Barteau left last night for a trip through the East, and were accompanied as far as St. Paul by Miss Fannie Iland, who goes from there to Denver for a visit. The couple will return shortly and will be at home to friends at 102 North Fourth street.</p></line></content></metadataxml>
