Info supplied by Bette Field.)</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Martin Rott and Josephine Beranek were married in 1871. They lived all their married lives on the Rott homestead near Yuba, Wisconsin , where all of their eleven children were born. Martin came to the United States in 1867, filed an intention to become a citizen in 1873, and became a citizen in 1886. In 1883, he was one of the founders and the president of the Henrietta Greenwood Mutual Fire Insurance Company, which still exists. Martin and his brother Wencel started the first Yuba band. they also sang Bohemian songs at funerals and occasionally led a Bohemian prayer. Later three of Martin and Josephine&#39;s children, Martin, Carl, and Antonie continued that service. Josephine was a sweet and patient lady in spite of the fact that she suffered with a painful and crippling rheumatism for many years. She raised her eleven children and then took in her grandson, Martin Stnek, when his mother died in childbirth.</p></line></content></metadataxml>
